Guestbook

February 2011
We stayed for 2 weeks in February and found Les Egralets very good on all counts. There were only 5 of us and so had loads of room, but I can see how sleeping 8 wouldn’t be too much of a problem. The 4 bedrooms are all particularly spacious – in our experience, usually one room is a “box” room, but here all 4 are really good with plenty of wardrobe and shelf storage as well.

The entrance/kids/boot room is very useful for storing all the skiing gear before entering the main rooms and the list of things not to forget drawn very artistically on the wall is great – especially for the kids!

The kitchen is more than adequate with all mod cons and plenty of utensils, china and pots & pans. The lounge/dining room is roomy, comfy and has spectacular views. The TV, DVD and iPOD connections are great as is the free Wifi, a really useful feature.

We enjoyed all our evenings in and, in fact, we only ate out 4 times even though we’d planned to do so every other night; the place was so good we wanted to stay in more.

The location is also excellent: it really is just 5 minutes walk from the Super-Morzine bubble lift which take you up to Avoriaz. We rented ski gear from the InterSport shop just by the lift and they have a storage facility which we found very useful indeed. We left skis and boots there each afternoon so we didn’t have to carry anything, anywhere!

Just by the lift is the stop for the little road-train that takes you across town to the Pleney lift. It runs every 10 minutes or so and takes just 5 minutes to get across town. It doesn’t run very late so be careful if you want some
apres-ski after skiing Pleney as you’ll need to walk back across town after 1730.

The SPAR just round the corner from the Super-Morzine lift is pretty good and the Carrefour at the other end of town is bigger and has a wider choice.

All in all, we thoroughly recommend Les Egralets and will be staying there again one day we hope.

Dear Graeme and Vanessa,

Just a quick note to say thank you very much for the bubbly and lovely gifts for the children. The musical animals have gone down a treat and was really thoughtful of you.

It was fabulous to get into the chalet again, it felt like coming home. We had a nightmare coming over with a four hour delay sitting in the runway in Birmingham. When we arrived at Geneva we were told that there was no luggage at all on the plane! 160 passengers and no bags?!

The good news (fingers crossed) is that our bags should be delivered tonight, but we have already had to spend over 800 in replacement ski gear for Steve, me and the two children! The musical animals have had to replace all of the toys we packed!

Having this wonderful place to stay in with such comfort has definitely eased the stress! We have agreed to crash the bubbly if and when the bags arrive - we can't wait for New Year!

Thank you for the bigger pans, made cooking the chilli last night a breeze!

We appreciate your attention and most of all your lovely home.
Kind regards,
Jo Baker

A great week for all the skiers* - good weather and good mix of ski slopes. An absolutely wonderful location; enjoyed the views across the valley as well as the more vertical views from the wobbly bridge! Super chalet; warm, cosy and well-appointed (have noted and agree minor deficiencies picked up by our predecessors).

Thank you for a great place there were only 6 of us in the end and we had loads of space. Skiing was fantastic. We were very lucky with the weather. Used the ‘Carrefour’ supermarket because it was the closest ‘not the cheapest’.

A fantastic week in Morzine – skiing and chalet both spot-on. The resort caters for everyone and the accommodation is great – the décor, location and amazing views. Loved the boot room as you come in and the comfy sofas for chilling out on at the end of the day. Thank you for a fab week!
For a family holiday (3 generations!) this has been a fab week. Morzine looks wonderful with all the snow and the apartment has been warm and comfortable.
Apart from Le Grillon (a def OK) in the town for lunch, we’ve self-catered everynight – enjoyed all of it. Big, big thank you.

It couldn’t have been more perfect – ideal position – great views, gorgeous chalet – warm and comfy – felt like home. We’ve had perfect snow and sun and will definitely be back.
Thank you.

Frist time at Morzine – Fabulous place, reat accommodation, very comfortable, warm and roomy for the 7 of us. Most of all fabuous views.
Due to the depreciation in the Euro we self-catered mainly and found the Champion Supermarket best value for food, with the Spar for alcohol – esp. beers! Much needed après-ski!
Had a meal at Auberge, food okay a little pricey!
Morzine met all our families needs as we had from beginners to more experienced skiers.
A big thank you to Vicki for liaising with me via email to organise ski school, passes and more importantly boot’ski hire which was delivered to our door and had a real personal touch! (Well done MountainRental.Com)

Lovely weather conditions for most of our stay, sunny! Great location the bar at the top of Peney lift, sat in a relaxer drinking mulled wine no wonder my skiing did not improve much!
Great time had by all from,
Ward/Godbelieve Family xx
Ps would def. return…….soon…..

6 February – 12 February 2009
We had a lovely Stay. Apartment very homely and comfortably hosted 8 people.
Loved the décor – especially the hearts.
Beautiful view.
Had ‘eat-ins’ a couple of evenings and ventured across the ‘moving bridge’ to eat in ‘Auberge and ‘Le Grillon’ – both very good.
Also appreciated very much the boulangerie opposite the Spar.
My fellow ‘keener’ skiers tell m to report excellent skiing conditions, however a little lack of sun.
With thanks,

A wonderful week at Les Egralets!  Everything was superb; the company, the skiing, lots of laughs and too much wine!
A very special place in the mountains and we’ve had a wonderful week being guided over the Portes du Soleil by our in-house professionals. The chalet is perfect with all the comforts and great atmosphere.  Thanks to all our party for the fun and frolics!

The chalet certainly surpassed our expectations!!!  Although only here for a quick stop over moving on to another chalet the spacious rooms and views were just what the doctor had ordered.
The chalet has a lovely welcoming atmosphere decorated in true alpine style – lovely.
Who could have guessed tucked away in the mountains that such a jewel exists – Morzine est trés belle!

Fantastic location, loved leaving our skis and boots at Intersport Super Morzine which meant we NEVER had to carry our skis!!

The children were thrilled to be independent and walk to the shops by themselves.

Fantastic snow, glorious views we can’t wait to come again.

We had another fabulous stay in this delightful chalet!

Love the improvements on 2007 – expecially the chain on the bathroom window!!

For traditional French food and great fondues try the restaurant with the wooden carings outside – can’t remember the name! (La Chamade)

Chalet is lovely, beautifully decorated, tidy and clean. We’ve had a great three days skiing and would definitely visit again.
Thank you.
Karen and Graham

I think the décor and size of this chalet is great – the photos on-line do not do this justice. The fluffy big towels, constant hot water and good heating were very much appreciated. A list of restaurant recommendations would be helpful and some furniture polish!

Love Morzine and have loved Les Egralets, will visit again.
Nicola Steve

Shouldn’t advertise the chalet as having a fire-place when it’s one you can’t use. Other than that a very nice chalet! (sorry – still waiting for chimney expert VB)

Very nice! But how about a washing up bowl?!
